Job Overview: 

This business focused IT role is responsible for the delivery of business systems solutions to the business stakeholders.  The analyst is responsible for business process analysis, definition, testing, configuration, implementation, training and support of the business systems. This position develops solutions to complex problems requiring functional business expertise, independent judgment and ingenuity to identify new and re-engineer existing business processes and systems, enabling increased business efficiency and profitable growth. This role is responsible for eliciting business needs into relevant functional documentation/deliverables for assigned initiatives and projects. This position acts as a business user-information resource by managing help desk duties to support the business users who routinely access the business systems.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 


  • Assist in the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of business needs, requirements, and to be processes using interviews, workshops, and presentations

  • Validates that designed IT solutions will meet business requirements

  • Facilitates system certification and coordinates user acceptance testing

  • Serves as information resource for business application end-users

  • Develops system training content prior to implementation

  • Assists in training delivery to end users

  • Assists in developing communication content to business users during the project phase

  • Assists in providing support to business users during and post implementation

  • Participates in team building and self-driven skill development through active involvement in appropriate training and mentoring programs

  • Consults with subject matter experts and project team members to develop potential business and system solutions

  • Manage and tracks business needs status throughout the project or initiative

  • Communicates issues and risks related to business processes to project, IT and business unit management and help resolve related conflicts

  • Demonstrates fundamental understanding of assigned business process and retail/supply chain industry trends, reviewing identified best practice research related to assigned business domains

  • Establishes good working relationships with business and development teams

  • Up to 50-70% travel required

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education/Certification:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Systems Administration, Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields

  

Experience:


  • 4-5 years of Business Systems experience preferred

Knowledge:


  • Manhattan WM2017, LCS or other equivalent warehouse management software knowledge required

  • Intermediate understanding of computer database design and web-based technologies is preferred

Skills/Abilities:


  • Ability to communicate business and technical information in simple terms (both verbally and in presentation) and succinctly articulate issues to mid- and senior level managers and to be persuasive in making his/her recommendations

  • Detail oriented and able to look at the big picture in order to identify and prioritize critical elements of a problem and its solution

  • Process oriented i.e. understanding the rationale behind them, when to follow and when to adapt them

  • Ability to be a strong team player and must be able to work with leadership in multiple parts of the organization

  • Ability to act as a change leader

  • Ability to solve complex problems using analytical frameworks

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to learn specialized software products

  • Attention to detail and quality control essential

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a secure and protected environment

  • Ability to work independently

Physical Environments / Demands:


  • Up to 50-70% travel required

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment

  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday

  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
