ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of Automatic Transfer Switches, Industrial Control Products, Load Banks, Power Control Systems, Services and Solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a Materials Manager - Customer Support based out of Welcome, NC.

JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees and manages all material planning, customer support, logistics, and customer responsiveness activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Responsible for maintaining realistic and attainable production schedules to support customer requirements and plant revenue targets.
  • Responsible for creating a team environment aimed at supporting customer requirements and expectations while maintaining profitability.
  • Manages JDE, materials management system.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of material management.
  • Responsible for all quality related issues as they pertain to this position.
  • Completes all other tasks as defined by the Director of Manufacturing.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a high activity/high visibility environment.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :


  • All production planning / scheduling of finished products
  • Completion and issuance of all production shop packets
  • All fabricated parts planning / scheduling
  • Serve as escalation point on all customer service / customer responsiveness actions
  • Manage shipping and logistics activities
  • Prepare and evaluate monthly shipment commitments and month end updates
  • Directly manages supervisors and salaried materials employees.
  • Provide leadership and direction.
  • Budget control responsibility.
  • Must maintain good shop floor communications and conduct monthly meetings.

INTERACTIONS : (ex: internal clients, external clients, management)

  • Must be a team player and work well with all...including, but not limited to:

    • Production
    • Engineering
    • Sourcing
    • Quality
    • Customer Service


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have experience in planning, purchasing, and inventory control.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or related field plus minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/MRPII, JDE and inventory principles in a manufacturing environment.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • Must be detail oriented and results driven
  • Ability to manage many issues/projects at the same time and effectively direct associates within departments of responsibility
