Job Summary

The Maintenance Tech reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for Troubleshooting and repairing machinery and performing PMs on mechanical equipment such as forklift, HVAC units, pneumatic tools, production machines, power tools and testing instruments.  The Maintenance Tech determines if adjustments or repairs are required. Increasing level of responsibility per experience.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and PMs in accordance with US Aluminum Safety Rules and OSHA. (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements.

• Troubleshoot and Repair Manufacturing machines in a timely manner under little supervision. PM major equipment/components including but not limited to forklifts, golf carts, air compressors, hydraulic power packs, Paintline equipment, belts and pullies, motors, CNCs, saws, pumps, and building equipment.

• Adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and communicates with the Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within the standard repair timeframe.

• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to perform under limited supervision.

• Requires a flexible work schedule, may need to stay late or come in early depending production needs.

Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

• Trade School Certification or a minimum of 2 years of Industrial Maintenance Experience

• Dependable transportation.

• Consistently behaves in a manner that is appropriate and professional.

• Valid Class C Driver's License.

• Acceptable Driver's Record.

•Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

 

Preferred Skills:


  • Basic Electrical Skills

  • Basic Pneumatic Troubleshooting Skills

  • Ability to read and understand Maintenance Manuals

  • Basic Mig Welding Skills

  • Basic understanding of Mechanics

     

Physical/Environmental Demands/Environment:


  • Standing, walking, climbing, seeing, hearing, bending, reaching, stretching, crouching, & lifting ≤ 50 Lbs. continuously.

  • Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, concentration, eye/hand coordination

  • Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet slippery surfaces, hot/cold conditions, & noise continuously. While some chemicals may pose health risks if not used properly, employees are trained in the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals

  • Works inside and outside.

 

Safety


  • Hazards - Exposure to Pinch Points, Strain/Sprain, Laceration/Puncture, Contusion, Slipping, Burns, Shock, Loss of Limbs, Elevated temperatures during summer months.

  • Controls - Personal Protective Equipment, Safety Training, Written Procedures

  • Safety Equipment - Safety Glasses, Cut Resistant Gloves, Cut resistant sleeves.
