The Senior Application Developer offers experience and leadership for a small team of professionals who design, configure, customize, and integrate commercial SaaS and on-premise applications, along with internally developed systems. The Senior Application Developer collaborates with the various departments to identify application requirements, and then implements systems to meet them. This position will lead, support and coach members of their team to successfully fulfill their responsibilities. The Senior Application Developer will have to be hands-on and perform more complex application development work to help the team complete its goals.


Responsibilities



  • Assist in identifying user requirements and responding to user needs

  • Determine specifications from user requirements. Configure systems to meet business specifications.

  • Experience developing highly scalable applications.

  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.

  • Design, code, and test custom applications and scripts using industry-standard development systems and practices

  • Modify and enhance existing information systems as well as develop new systems.

  • Perform system upgrades and platform migrations, as necessary.

  • Test systems, collect results, and resolve issues with rework as needed.

  • Administer and maintain databases in support of application development

  • Assist in the development of documentation for various information systems

  • Integrate existing systems such as financial, manufacturing, quality, and others

  • Assist the Development Manager with establishing team goals

  • Assist with selection, coaching and professional development of team members to help meet department and company goals

  • Evaluates new technologies and systems and proposes improvements, upgrades, and new systems when appropriate

  • Other duties as assigned, including computer systems support, networking support, and systems administration

Required Skills



  • In-depth knowledge of application architecture and SDLC, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance

  • Knowledge of data interchange formats including JSON and XML

  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and database integration

  • Experience using REST services

  • Some knowledge of software development and validation requirements in a regulated industry, examples of which include pharmaceutical, financial, health care or aviation

Must-Haves



  • 7 or more years of experience in object-oriented programming languages

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline preferred; Established programming experience (credential or certificate) required

  • Expert in Microsoft .NET frameworks

  • Experience with SQL database systems MSSQL, MySQL

  • Experience working with Azure PAAS resources

    • Power Platforms

    • App Services

    • SQL



  • Experience maintaining enterprise system integrations at scale

  • Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies

  • Experience with financial/ERP systems such as Dynamics AX is beneficial

  • Strong leadership skills and strong team player attitude

  • Azure DevOps CICD experience
