Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of business strategic projects with general direction from leadership. Projects vary in scope and degrees, are larger with progressively increased responsibility, complexity and impact. The Senior Project Manager is champion of the project management discipline and successful project delivery. Position serves as the point of contact for all parties including the business lines, management, team members and third parties (vendors). The Senior Project Manager needs to possess a robust understanding of the businesses they support, at an industry and market level, allowing them to incorporate key elements into an initiative. The Senior Project Manager role requires an individual who has proficiency within several of the following disciplines: leadership skills, self-motivated, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple projects, ability to problem solve, and deliver successful results.

Job Accountabilities


  • Manages and leads teams on the successful execution and implementation of strategic projects. Promote and advocate a collaborative team environment by coaching and mentoring colleagues while leveraging colleague strengths.

  • Controls projects through the use of project plans and charters to adhere to the “triple constraints”: Time (schedule), Resources (people and financial) and Scope

  • Provides leadership and oversight for others as well as individually develops detailed project plans to manage and transparently report on progress status. To ensure timely completion of special project assignments that vary in scope and level of responsibility while quickly adapting to changing requirements.

  • Oversees the ongoing review of projects(s) status; identifies risks and developments, recommends and implements solutions as appropriate. Ensures alignment to strategic priorities.

  • Follows prescribed project management methodology which includes, but is not limited to: delivery throughout the end-to-end Project life cycle which includes but is not limited to Requirements gathering, Risk and Issue management, collaboration with Architecture and Design, Testing, Training, Production readiness and Change Management

  • Methodically plans, analyzes and schedules multiple interrelated tasks and / or initiatives based upon their strategic value, scope, schedule and resource requirements.

  • Leads, mentors, guides and manages to troubleshoot and resolves issues as needed.

  • Defines and oversees required research and analytical tasks to define project requirements, achieve project objectives, acquire resources and data, and ensure high quality execution

  • Provides evolving leadership and oversight for others as well as individually analyzes requests for feasibility and cost benefit.

  • Leads, facilitates and manages participates in third party selection and review third party contracts in conjunction with legal counsel. Follows Third Party Management Process.

Education


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Business Required

Experience


  • 4-7 years Banking, Business or Project Management. Work experience with progressive responsibilities, knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts of Project Management. Required

  • 5-7 years Leading Projects in a Project Management role; Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) tool usage leading Projects in a Project Management role Required

Licenses and Certifications


  • Other Project Management Certification , Preferred
