City Experiences is seeking a Ticket Agent for our City Ferry operation in Pierce County.

About the Opportunity:

The Ticket Agent is responsible for pre-scanning all appropriate vehicle and passenger tickets in the loading lanes prior to the vessel’s departure. Prior to loading the IP ensures all vehicles are in the appropriate loading lanes according to Island destination.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Conduct ferry ticket sales

  • Maintain accountability for all receipts

  • Ensure all passengers and vehicles have the appropriate tickets prior to boarding

  • Pre-scan all passenger and vehicle tickets prior to all departures from the Steilacoom Ferry Terminal in order to expedite the loading of the vessel

  • Preserve Steilacoom waiting area to the highest levels of cleanliness in accordance with the

    client's standards

  • Execute daily checks of the facility to ensure cleanliness and safety; take immediate corrective action as necessary.

  • Remain true to and champion the Company's Core Values and Code of Conduct.

  • Safety First- Safety shall remain the highest priority at all times. Be an active advocate of, and participate in, the HMS Safety Culture.

  • Consider reliability with regard to Company Operations.

  • Provide outstanding guest service

  • Present professional level of customer service and appearance to all clients, both internal and external.

  • Responsible for handling money and balancing deposits/money bags; perform deposits within guidelines provided by Office Manager.

  • Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:


  • HS Diploma or equivalent work experience 

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to effectively interact with the passengers, guests, and fellow employees.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, quickly-changing environment

  • Ability to process calculations frequently and continuously

  • Ability to work independently

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills

  • Minimum one (1) year cash handling experience

  • Minimum six (6) months customer service experience

  • Proven track record of working well in a team environment

  • Must be at least  18-year of age 

  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card), and/or ability to obtain and maintain.

  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification, and/or ability to obtain and maintain
