Job Summary

The Vice President of Digital Product Engineering leads Equinix digital products and services development, working closely with the product management, architects, operations, and other cross functional stakeholders in building the next generation cloud networking platform, software-driven infrastructural products, and the digital SaaS platform that is needed to accelerate the growth. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Platform Architecture and Engineering and is responsible for defining and executing our platform and digital services strategy. This role oversees translation of platform and digital product requirements into high quality technology, provides technical leadership, and ensures the engineering processes are scalable, secure, agile, consistent, and continue to evolve as technology changes. This role will be responsible for developing and articulating impactful research and development recommendation to product leadership, staying current with industry technology trends, and working closely with Equinix’s CTO and CIO organizations.

We are looking for candidates who have deep experience in delivering cloud networking products and SaaS platform capability at scale. This role partners with other parts of the organization to ensure the alignment on technology, operation, go to market, and customer success for the digital products and services.

Responsibilities

• Lead, design, and execute on our product strategy for Equinix digital services, cloud networking, and the next generation software defined networking platform




• Lead necessary business simplification and quote to cash platform components to enable the consumption of our digital products




• Foster the culture of agile development in a fast-paced environment with continuous development and deployment




• Provide operational excellence in digital infrastructure reliability and availability for the digital products and services to meet customer demand




• Support the success of direct customers, resellers, and partners in consumption of the digital infrastructure products services with APIs and software programmability, automation, security, and observability




• Establish automated, enforceable processes to meet our quality and security OKRs

• Strategically evaluate and drive alignment and decision making around new technology working in collaboration across product management, architecture, operations, CTO, and CIO organization




• Drive innovation among the teams, and help communicate and champion new ideas across teams in multiple global locations




• Be the inspirational leader and empower the teams

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience at a high growth tech company or technology-focused enterprise in product engineering leading large global software development teams




• Strong cloud networking background and experience delivering software defined networking platform and products




• Proven thought leadership in leading Agile software development methodology and apply rapid delivery of features and releases using CI/CD




• Experience leading and developing a common SaaS digital platform with multiple upstream applications




• Experience designing, developing, and running a cloud-based production system with high availability and reliability




• Demonstrated understanding of cloud, networking, and/or IT services landscape and technology domains




• Executive presence and demonstrated success building trusted relationships;  influencing and collaborating in cross-functional environments




• Demonstrated experience building a thriving culture aligned to Equinix values




• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred
