The Warehouse Lead is responsible for performing all warehouse activities associated with Receiving, Shipping, Inventory Control, and Manufacturing Material Replenishment. In addition, the Sr. Warehouse Specialist Lead provides; daily direction to Warehouse personnel, job training, and leads process improvement projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Inventory control including material transfers, cycle count and stock status/reorder point activities.

  • Providing first rate customer service including understanding and meeting customer requirements, together with a positive and professional manner.

  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, safe and secure work area at all times.

  • Assisting with special projects as required, including complex projects and budget tracking.

  • Conduct warehouse duties in a manner, which promote safety and comply with FDA, OSHA, and MSDS standards and company SOP’s.

  • Assist/lead weekly cycle count and provide guidance in resolving counting issues and maintaining inventory accuracy.

  • Produces and analyzes standard and specific reports, including performance metrics for the warehouse.

  • Train other warehouse personnel when required.

  • Processes paperwork for the warehouse, including Standard Operating Procedures, Deviation Notices, and Discrepancy Statements.


  • Support a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the Takeda Shared Values – Respect, Responsiveness and Results.

  • Support daily manufacturing operations by ensuring material availability, timely deliveries, and inventory accuracy.

  • Support and Emphasize the Safety and Quality commitments of the department – make decisions concerning these commitments within the area.

  • Assist department Supervisor with Training Program including: Training Plans, Proficiency Audits, Weekly SABA Reports, and supports all actions related to training. Support training for employees in skilled area (including but not limited to GMP, job skills, safety).

  • Participate/lead in the completion of special projects as necessary.

  • Identify/prioritize/provide resources in Warehouse area to assist internal and external customers meet requirements.

  • Support compliance with all GMP rules, product documentation, specifications, SOPs, and FDA requirements as required.

  • Submit and/or maintain and distribute metrics related to department performance and compliance.

  • May perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications



  • Advance warehouse operations knowledge.

  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment and vehicles, forklift and pallet jack.

  • Basic knowledge of cGMP manufacturing practices


  • Advance understanding and compliance to Good Documentation Practices (GDP). 

  • Knowledge of basic chemical safety procedures.

  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal direction from manager and/or supervisor. 

  • Must be self-directed and motivated to complete repetitive tasks.

  • Ability to utilize resources in the most efficient and productive manner possible. 

  • Must be able to proactively improve processes, initiate projects and implement change.

  • Ability to identify errors or faults in process and recommend or implement solutions.

  • Make arithmetic calculations quickly, accurately and be able to work with both the metric and USA standards of measurement.

  • Must be able to read and follow detailed written instructions and have good verbal/written communication skills.

  • Must be able to read, write, and converse in English.

  • Must be able to navigate, conduct searches, and fill on line forms on Personal Computer for the purposes of training, performance management, and self service applications.

  • Must have the ability to navigate electronic mail systems and intranet for communication purposes.


  • Advanced knowledge of personal computer software programs such as MS Excel, Access, Power Point, MS Word and other comparable programs.
  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor degree preferred.  Minimum 5-7 years of experience.

Working Environment


  • Warehouse environment.

  • May be working in a loud area that requires hearing protection and other protective equipment to be worn.

  • May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers that may require respiratory protection.

  • Inside working conditions.

  • May be required to work or be assigned to a different shift as needed.

  • Must be able to work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a workweek as required.

  • Overtime may be required at times.

  • Will have interaction with other people.
  • Pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.

Physical Demand


  • The overall physical exertion of this position is medium to heavy work.

  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time

  • May be required to lift up to 25-30 pounds when completing the following job duty: handling boxes of office supplies, documents, or raw materials/components.

  • May be required to push up to 50 pounds when completing the following job duty: handling boxes of office supplies, documents, or raw materials/components.

  • May be required to pull up to 50 pounds when completing the following job duty: handling boxes of office supplies, documents, or raw materials/components.

  • May be required to use hand / finger feel constantly when completing the following job duty:   keyboard data entry into computer business applications.

  • May be required to use hearing frequently when completing the following job duty:   receiving phone or verbal requests from customers

  • May be required repetitive/sustained stooping and bending frequently when completing the following job duty:   handling boxes of office supplies, documents, or raw materials/components.

  • May be required to walk frequently when completing the following job duty:   Deliver/pick-up raw materials, finish good product or supplies to/from/within warehouse locations.

  • May be required overhead reaching when completing the following job duty:  handling supplies

  • May be required to visually inspect constantly when completing the following job duty:   reviewing computer/paper report data ensuring compliance to SOPs, reviewing shipping, receiving, and material request documentation.
