Single Element Assembly Technician at II-VI Incorporated in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Daily high-volume precision assembly work involving set procedures
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Work closely with team leader daily to assure all priorities are met
  • Produce consistent product quality with minimal supervision in accordance to documented work instructions
  • Responsible for identifying differences with existing WI's, procedures, and adherence to all ISO 9001 standards

Education & Experience

  • High School graduate, AAS preferred but not required
  • 0-2 years' assembly experience

Skills

  • Good mechanical problem solving, organizational and clerical skills
  • Self-motivation is a key attribute for this position
  • Must be reliable and dependable and help facilitate a positive work environment
  • Proficient with common lab tools - i.e. calipers, micrometers, manual drill press, etc.
  • Must have good communication skills for department / management / customer interfacing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point

Working Conditions

Laboratory conditions involving the use of assorted assembly tools

Physical Requirements


  • High degree of concentration and attention to detail is required with optical assemblies due to complexity and value.
  • Must be able to lift >50 lbs.

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards.
