Sr Analyst, Alt Investments at Northern Trust in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description:

Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) focuses on resolution of complex transactions, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines and/or processes. Full ownership for one or more processes, reports and/or procedures. Analytically and procedurally competent, representing the team on cross-function process or project deliverables. Emerging as an expert in a specific skill set but remains focused primarily on daily execution. May be in final stages of studying for relevant professional qualification or accreditation.

1. Operates as a highly motivated self-starter to proactively process and resolve complex transactions, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines and/or processes

2. Full ownership for one or more processes, reports and/or procedures

3. Analytically and procedurally competent, emerging as an expert on in-kind alternative activities but remains focused primarily on daily trade execution and exception management activity.

4. Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact including client servicing for Alternative, Private and Publicly traded assets

5. May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management with responsibilities that include scheduling initial and follow-up meetings

6. Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other employees

7. Delivers a work product that requires less revision

8. Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions across multiple parties to improve the exception lifecycle process with minimal supervision

Qualifications

A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred

Related Industry qualification / or studying towards, is preferred

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

Functional / Industry Knowledge is required Analytical and problem solving skills are required

Technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas
