Job Description:

The Vice President, Human Resources will be responsible for developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction for our new stand alone Brooks Automation company. The position provides strategic value by analyzing, developing and executing Human Resource strategy in collaboration with, and with accountability to, the executive management team and the board of directors.


Specific areas of focus and leadership will include:


  • Develop Human Resource plans and strategies to support the achievement of Brooks business objectives across our newly created Automation company. Assist CEO, CFO and executive team with change and transformation management.



  • Function as a strategic advisor to executive management enabling the optimization of the company's talent. Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to ensure effective staffing of key and operational roles across the organization. Provide leadership and support of diversity and inclusion programs.

  • Develop and implement appropriate executive and employee compensation plans that are competitive, motivating and focused on performance and achieving results. Establish and oversee competitive and responsive employee benefit plans and programs on a global basis.



  • Provide overall leadership and guidance on performance management, talent and career development, succession planning, and training and leadership development programs.

  • Fully leverage the Company's systems and software support tools to ensure operational excellence and efficiency of the global organization.

  • Provide leadership to global HR function that delivers direct support to management and employees through business focused HR partners and a developing shared services model.

  • Participate in cross functional team to maintain best in class safety and health procedures .

  • Partner with General Counsel in the adjudication of employee related claims and other legal employment matters.


Prior Experience and Competencies



  • Demonstrated ability to take progressive decisions and actions as a change agent in assessing current HR systems and practices in concert with the strategic plans of the Company.

  • Significant experience in mergers and acquisition from HR due diligence through organizational and cultural integration of global targets.

  • Track record of building and scaling HR teams with successful outcomes as part of a well-established and growing organization.

  • Outstanding communication skills that project a command of the subject matter while maintaining a strong sense of EQ in the delivery.

  • Seeks to improve own performance while positively impacting the performance of others. Functions as an engaged and hands on executive who leads by example and manifests the highest level of ethics and integrity.

  • Partners with the executive team in creating a culture and environment that continues to lead in the growth and retention of talent.

  • Possesses superior executive presence along with an ability to influence and present recommendations at all levels within the Company including the CEO, CFO, Executive Leadership Team. Grasps complexity and connections across issues while prioritizing efforts to achieve success. Cultivates a developing knowledge and understanding of the company's product, services and technology offerings and how they align with the company's human capital requirements.

  • Maintains a broad knowledge of global industry trends and demonstrates an understanding of financial indicators and cost drivers and their impact on the organization.

  • Has experience and success working in tandem with the Board of Directors and Board Committees. Makes thoughtful and disciplined decisions at the most senior levels. Understands the level and degree of information that is required to gain consensus.

  • Ideally has worked in a global product technology or science focused public company and may have had a business career in a function other than HR.
