Department:

638000 Mother Baby Unit

Expectations:

Responsible for the coordination and management of patient flow operatives to meet department needs to ensure an efficient operation of the department by directing functions and activities; interpreting policies and procedures, standards, and regulation as applicable. Demonstrated leadership and excellent knowledge of Huntington Hospital's Customer Service Standards by being a resource role model of the department. Must possess excellent problem solving skills and knowledge of applicable laws, regulation and standards by TJC and other regulatory agencies. Provides administrative and clinical support to Department Manager such as new hire orientation, staff development, patient care plan update, communication to staff nurses during shift changes, etc. Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed. Meets Qualifications for Registered Nurse Job Description.
This position may require flexibility of hours.

Education:
For hires prior to 9/1/15, Graduate from accredited nursing program required.
For internal promotions to a RN New Grad or for hires between 9/1/15 - 5/1/2018, must be currently enrolled in a BSN or MSN program & degree must be completed within 3 years of DOH or date of transition to an RN position.
Effective for New Hires/promotions after 5/1/18, BSN or higher required.
Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.

Experience/Training:
Minimum 2 years of current experience in area of expertise/equivalent service area required. 5 years Maternity/OB experience strongly preferred. Couplet Care and Baby Friendly experience preferred. Leadership experience preferred. Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems required.

Licenses/Certifications:
Current active unrestricted RN license issued by State of California.
Current American Heart Association BLS Provider required.
Current American Academy of Pediatrics NRP Provider required.
RNC-MNN or equivalent certification, preferred.

Skills:
Must be willing and able to work in a face paced, frequently changing environment.
Must be willing and able to multi-task effectively to accomplish work assignments.
