Major duties:
Learns to operate rod wrenches, rod/tubing tongs, rod/tubing elevators, hand tools, powered rig tools and other related equipment
Learns to lay down, pick up and stand back Rods and Tubing
Learns to assist with assembling and disassembling various tools to be used
Learns to assist in the rigging up/down of the well service unit as directed
Learns to assist in the Installation of Blow Out Preventer and Equipment
Learns to assist with repair and maintenance of tools
Learns to assist with installing and uninstalling of various Well Servicing Tools to be run in the wellbore
Performs all duties in compliance with Customer and Company policies and procedures, as well as QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) applicable regulations
Actively participates in safety meetings to identify and address risks and hazards
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
High School Diploma, GED, or applicable relevant experience
Ability to perform the job tasks safely according to all Company, local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements
Ability to learn or have the basic knowledge of the oil field and related equipment associated with the position
Ability to work at heights up to or greater than 50 feet
Ability to use logic to solve problems with effective solutions
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse group including customers, managers, contractors and well site personnel
Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that they can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English
Ability to use simple mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication) to make job-related calculations
Basic Computer skills
Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as background check
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, grasp, twist, squat, reach, and lift objects up to 50 pounds
Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use
Finger agility for grasping/holding
Typical Working Conditions:
Shifts over 8 hours typical
Travel may be required
Exposure to Toxic or caustic chemicals, Explosives, Radioactive materials
Outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather
Extreme cold or heat: Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of on hour or above 100 degrees
Noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level
Hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation
