Production Lead 2nd Shift

The Production Lead is the front-line extension of management who performs the manufacturing processes that add value and quality to the inputs and create the final high-quality final products.

Location: Madera CA

Hours: 2nd Shift

Wages: $25.40/hr

Responsibilities:

• As needed will oversee / assist team by ensuring ingredients are available to in order to continue weighing, gathering, blending and packaging specific amounts of required ingredients, includes lifting/handling 50-55 lb. containers repeatedly into customer requested packaging at specific weights with blend specific lot numbers and tags, ensuring accuracy of each manufacturing step
  
  


• Act as an extension of management's behavior expectations
  
  


• Communicate to team the Shift Manager expectations on work assignments based on bottlenecks
  
  


• Expediting of single ingredient, investigating any ingredient concerns (pending), (quarantine), (missing). Making production feed labels for shift, filling out hard copy documentation daily. Ensuring employees are following GMP's and overseeing production volumes. Assist in making feed labels (1-2 hrs daily).
  
  


• Maintain and lead compliance around quality and safety programs and provide guidance and direction to employees to ensure understanding and compliance.
  
  


• Repackaging product codes
  
  


• Transferring product to bulk bins (2nd shift only)
  
  


• Transfer to offsite warehouse (2nd and 3rd shift only)
  
  


• Move bulk product to rail spur (1st and 2nd shift only)
  
  


• Maintaining assigned work area in a neat, clean and orderly manner
  
  


• Use of computer inventory system (NBI) in the manufacturing process, filling out hard copy documentation of production including, weekly and monthly logs.

Must have the ability to follow the production schedule, minimize downtime, influence and engage employees, and manage production floor while promoting a safe working environment and the output of a quality product. Report issues relating to quality, safety, and employee relations immediately to the appropriate party. Can proficiently demonstrate at least 100% of the following skills:

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  
  


• Two years manufacturing experience
  
  


• Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and in group situations
  
  


• Able to follow oral and written instructions
  
  


• Understand, record, and verbalize detailed information accurately; basic math calculation skills.
  
  


• Able to lift to 55 pounds, complete repetitious work, and work on feet for prolonged periods of time in a fast-paced environment.
  
  


• Basic computer skills including use of scanners and bar code software.
  
  


• Must be able to pass a forklift training test
  
  


• Ability to work overtime during the week, on weekends, and on holidays.
