The Vice President of Communications will lead and scale SWHR's expanding external, internal, and executive communications, reputation management, media relations, and industry thought leadership. Reporting to the Senior Executive Officer, this seasoned leader will oversee strategic messaging and market positioning in partnership with parent companies and C-suite executives to expand SWHR's visibility and industry leadership position. The position will be responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships as well as external partners and vendors.

Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Develop and implement a company-wide communications plan to advance the SWHR brand on a national basis; protect reputation, broaden awareness of offerings, and increase visibility of our programs and executive leadership goals. • Lead the development of internal and external communications in support of physician relationships as well as patient/member-directed communication. • Lead development of external communications in support of market positioning and contracting with payors. • Serve as lead media liaison for the organization, crafting and delivering communications to trade, local, and national media. • Coordinate and lead all reputation and crisis planning, rapid response and recovery when needed. • Partner with parent corporate marketing team to coordinate proactive and reactive media relations and issue management protocols. • Supervise external public relations agency partners, ensuring goals are met and exceeded; conduct advanced measurement and if necessary, course correction of PR program effectiveness of PR strategy execution. • Partner with other internal stakeholders (e.g. government relations, compliance) to ensure regulatory alignment of communications. • In partnership with Human Resources, optimize SWHR's internal communication strategy to enhance company-wide, effective storytelling that drives brand awareness, message consistency, culture and employee engagement. • Manage the optimization of websites, digital marketing platforms and technologies, including the implementation and use of advanced digital analytics. • Have a broad vision to develop, execute and assess integrated, multi-channel marketing programs, including direct mail, advertising, online, video, social and email marketing. • Provide expert guidance and mechanisms to maximize the effectiveness of communication programs and maximize positive visibility, integrating media monitoring and analytics. • Lead an in-house marketing team, including responsibility for professional development, mentoring and performance management. • Advise on participation in philanthropic and community development activities and events.

    • Bachelor's degree from accredited college in Related Field required. • Master's degree from accredited college in Related Field required. • 8 years' senior experience leading internal and external communication strategy required. • 8 years' Senior Marketing & Communications experience in Healthcare, preferably in Provider Organizations and/or Managed Care required. • Experience integrating social media with marketing and web initiatives. Experience developing and executing a digital marketing strategy required. • Experience with external communications within the broad healthcare ecosystem to include payors, physicians and patients/members preferred. • Expert user of inbound marketing tools • Demonstrates broad vision, skills, knowledge and experience in the development and execution of healthcare marketing plans. • Strong creative, strategic and sales skills, effective at communicating and influencing people. • Proven ability to perform at high levels in fast-paced, matrixed environment. • Can build, lead and motivate a team; mentor and develop staff, be a facilitator, who by his/her style and attitude will increase both the productivity and creativity of the team. • Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent writing skills. • Proven track record of success setting and achieving ambitious goals.
