Who we are looking for

State Street Alpha Data Services Product organization is seeking individuals with subject matter expertise spanning a wide array of financial instrument types, strong data analysis skills, familiarity with enterprise data management principles and an understanding of security master and reference data architecture for both Investment Accounting and Back Office Accounting to join our team as a Product Manager and Business Architect.

Product Managers are at the heart of continued growth of our Alpha Data Services offering. These energetic, self-motivated individuals collaborate with clients and Business, Data and Technology Solution Architecture leads at State Street and Charles River on a daily basis to articulate business requirements, navigate dependencies and drive innovative solutions that empower our architecture to support new and more robust Front, Middle and Back Office managed data services - allowing our clients to focus on generating revenue for their core business.

What you will be responsible for
As Reference Data Architect you will


  • Define and maintain standards around data ingestion, enrichment and validation of security master and entity reference data into our Enterprise Data Management solution, ensuring those standards adhere to internal Enterprise Data Governance requirements

  • Partner with technical leads on strategies for mapping data from various sources into new interfaces as part of our standardized service offering

  • Review proposed Design Architecture documentation and provide guidance on sound workflows, including the integration of new sources, data sets and or elements to our standardized interfaces and EDM

  • Conduct interviews, perform, data analysis, generate user stories, develop scenarios and workflow analyses

  • Work with the Client Implementation and Development teams as well as project managers to establish project delivery plans and estimates for projects involving integration of client middle or back office security master or reference data into our Enterprise Data Management solution

  • Guide Clients and Implementation teams on required reference data and other setups and mapping as part of initial client implementations

  • Socialize and coordinate key changes or updates to data flows that have cross client impact (i.e. new EDMs, EDM or interface changes)

  • Inform the long term business strategy of the product by drawing from internal and external industry trends and assisting with proof of concept exercises

  • Prepare specifications to drive development and assist with test case creation

  • Advise and track new developments as part of our 3-5 year strategic roadmap

  • Capture on-going enhancements to scope of services for existing clients as needed into roadmap

  • Contribute to client facing Product Documentation; including RFP material, product catalog overviews

  • Support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise

  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the service offering to perform Subject Matter Expert activities; consultancy, implementation configuration and demonstrations

Education & Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Information Technology or related field of study

  • 8+ years in depth knowledge across all asset types and types of reference data (Fixed Income, Derivatives, Forwards, Cash, Equities, Futures, Positions, Settlements, General Ledger, NAV etc.)

  • 5+ years’ experience with SQL, preferably as a consultant on data warehousing projects, data services buildouts or third party data integrations within the financial services sector
