Senior Software Engineering Advisor - Evernorth at Cigna in St. Louis, Missouri

Job Description:

Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Engineering matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Designs and develops a consolidated, conformed enterprise data warehouse and data lake which store all critical data across Customer, Provider, Claims, Client and Benefits data. Manages processes that are highly complex and impact the greater organization. Designs, develops and implements methods, processes, tools and analyses to sift through large amounts of data stored in a data warehouse or data mart to find relationships and patterns. May lead or manage sizable projects. Participates in the delivery of the definitive enterprise information environment that enables strategic decision-making capabilities across enterprise via an analytics and reporting. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as "the go-to person" for the most complex Information Management assignments.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

This role is Flex which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

Sample Delivery Responsibilities:

• Core code production for backendapplicationsand RESTful microservices


• Partner with TPO to decomp and design features for the entity products and prioritize quarterly work for the team


• Createand optimizeperformanceand healthmetrics


• Map user stories to detailed technical specifications


• Mentor team members to ensure deliverables meet engineering product health standards and timelines


• Complete detailed peer code reviews


• Deploying & developingapplications


• Operational triage of bugs, failed test cases and system failures


• Architecting a pilot or PoC effort to bring innovation to delivery


• Work with stakeholders for successful adoption and extension of entities


• Workinginallstages of the environment lifecycle


• Automation of manual data object creation and test cases


• Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.

Requirements and Skill sets needed:

• 5+ yearsofexperience designing technical solutions using object-oriented design concepts.


• 5+ years of experience developing inJava technologies like Core Java, J2EE, Kotlin,Core Java, JSP, Servlets, Java Beans, JDBC


• 5+ years of experience with relational and document databases like Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.


• Experience with cloud technologies likePivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, etc.


• 2+ years experiencewithKafka


• Design and develop operational models using Swagger and integrate with application to achieve skeleton and documentation details.


• Develop micro services architecture applications using Spring Boot platform using Agile methodology with Test Driven Development TDD from scratch.


• Develop configurable applications using Kotlin.


• Develop unit test cases using JUnit powered with Mockito and Power mock.


• Write automation test scripts using cucumber citrus and integrated within Jenkins pipeline.


• Excellent communication skills


• Software version controlexperience using Git


• Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.


• Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.


• Must be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts, or Evernorth. Evernorth is a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
