Dal-Tile is currently searching for a detail focused Materials Planner who can effectively manage production needs within our manufacturing facilities. You will work with the production facilities to create weekly production schedules. The production facilities utilize this schedule to manage their weekly work efforts to produce goods for our customers. A customer service approach is needed in this position. Planners will work to resolve delays in product shipments and coordinate alongside multiple departments within Dal-Tile, such as Logistics and Marketing, to provide a high level of service to the customer. We are seeking a relationship builder who wants to make a meaningful contribution to Dal-Tile's business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for production scheduling, product availability and inventory turns
  • Determines and provides weekly production needs (Master Schedule) to the plant(s) by analyzing customer demand, sales forecast, inventory, lead-time safety stock and other planning data
  • Maintain/utilize Bill of Material information in various systems for production planning.
  • Written and verbal communication with Plants, Marketing, Finance, Regional Distribution center(RDC), Transportation, Plant Purchasing, Customer Service, R&D, etc.
  • Prepare data and participate in weekly meetings with Plants, Marketing, etc.
  • Respond to Customer Service and ATP (available to promise) inquiries regarding product
  • Perform supply planning related tasks such as transportation expedites, prioritize receipts with RDCs, redeployment of stock, etc.
  • Participate in product launch planning and communication
  • Identify and communicate supply constraints with possible solutions
  • Prepare weekly reports (In-stock, Service, Schedule Adherence etc.) and presentation for meetings. Understand and explain service or in-stock issues
  • Maintain planning parameters like lead times, min/max etc.
  • Review and maintain target inventory calculations (cycle stock, safety stock etc.) for work center analysis

Education and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Business, Economics, Mathematics or related field
  • Certified in Production Inventory Management (CPIM) designation desirable

Experience & Skills:

  • 0- 2 yrs. previous experience in Manufacturing Plant production scheduling and or supplier purchasing planning
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources- SAP and data warehouse using Excel/Access
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Access
  • Previous strong Excel analysis experience using pivot table, v-lookup, formula, sorting, filtering etc. required
  • ERP/SAP experience will be an asset
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
