The Neurovascular Interventional Vascular & Structural Heart Network develops products and procedural solutions for surgical applications which include brain and stroke therapy solutions.

In this exciting role as a Human Resources Business Partner you will be responsible for leading the Human Resources function for our Medtronic Operations site in Irvine, California. You will partner with management to develop strategies that ensure the effective delivery of HR services aligned with our Global HR Operating Model strategies as well as driving the HR agenda to meet the network and the site's particular business needs. In this role, you will be accountable for defining the right people priorities under 3 of our strategic key themes: Culture, Talent and Organization.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Foster a culture that drives inclusion, diversity, innovation and engagement
  • Develop, drive and deploy business and human capital strategies
  • Lead Organizational Design and Organizational Transformation
  • Apply organization consulting principles and data to diagnose business needs to achieve contracted outcomes
  • Develop the Talent Strategy: Talent Acquisition, retention and performance management
  • Contribute to people strategic decisions
  • Influence business outcomes through credible and authentic relationships with leaders and HR colleagues in a highly matrixed environment cen
  • Develop and foster relationships with wide range of stakeholders (HR Centers of Excellence and Functions)

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of HR experience supporting multi-level organizations including direct labor; or 3+ years' experience with an advanced degree
Nice to Have

  • Prior Human Resources experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of government and state government employment regulations
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of HR by adhering to strict confidentiality and respect of all employees
  • Demonstrated skill in developing rapport, open communication, partnerships and a collaborative work environment with employees, customers and vendors
  • Experience developing data-driven strategies and delivering results through project management, implementation, and evaluation, with extraordinary attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with and advising leadership teams in a dynamic, matrixed, global environment
  • A team player with demonstrated influencing and relationship-building skills with clients, partners, and people with different backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to communicate ideas, insights, and strategy clearly and persuasively at all levels of the organization
  • Experience working within or in close partnership with HR functions/teams/ Centers of Expertise in a medium-to-large organization
  • Experience in continuous improvement, Six Sigma, and/or lean desirable
  • Experience working in a high complex matrix organization with cross business and cross functional stake holders
  • Strong organizational design and change management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in transforming and building inclusive and working in culturally diverse environments.
  • Systems thinking, recognizing the impact of decisions within and outside organizations
  • Ability to assess, develop, align and differentiate talent
  • Distinctive people and team management skills with strong coaching ethos
  • Ability to lead by influence
  • Strong and effective communication skills
