Summary:

Independently prepares client invoices and reconciliations while providing internal support with expense and project revenue reporting. Ensures contractual compliance and budget accuracy for assigned project by examining and reconciling project expenses and revenue.

Responsibilities:

• Project accounting administration, including contract review for project set-up and invoicing, analysis and review of project budgets and reconciliation of project financial data for contractual compliance and against unbilled balances
• Prepare timely and accurate project invoices for primarily T&M and Fixed Price type projects
• Follow up on overdue AR balances
• Assist in contract closeouts
• Review/audit employee expense claims for accuracy and compliance with contractual, US Government, foreign governments and other pertinent regulations
• Review and approve expenditures (vendor, consultant, subcontractor invoices)) for assigned projects
• Assist Project Managers with financial planning and reviews, including updating budgets, and monitoring financial risks and profitability at the project level
• Provide financial updates and financial advice to project teams as needed for assigned projects
• Perform audit support for internal and external clients
• Assist internal clients employee expense inquiries
• Monitor unbillable costs, change orders and adjust the Revenue and Costs Budgets accordingly
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• 2 years of relevant work experience in Government project accounting
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required or equivalent job experience including experience preparing client invoices for US Government agencies and/or other quasi-governmental organizations
• Basic or Intermediate MS Excel skills
• Ability to work with complex data and assess, interpret, and apply government and commercial contract terms, requirements, and specifications
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills required

• Knowledge of GAAP is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with internal controls and internal audits.
