CIB Controls Office's mission is to provide best in class service to the business and the key partners within the CIB as well as across the firm. It partners with CIB and Firmwide business executives providing accountability for the end to end controls environment responsible for operational risk assessment, controls design & evaluation, subject matter expertise and program management of controls related initiatives as well as lead ongoing control related activities on behalf of the business. Regulatory and Policy Change Management: Provides governance, coordination, and execution of control projects
CIB Global Conduct Risk Control
The Controls Governance team directly supports the CIB Chief Control Manager with the delivery of executive controls reporting to CIB senior management through the Business Control Committees. The role will involve regular interaction with senior management across the firmwide controls organization and partners with LOB, Functional & Regional Control Managers, Risk, and Compliance to ensure effective oversight of the CIB BCC governance framework and communication of control related issues.
Responsibilities include directly supporting the CIB Chief Control Manager with:
Implement an effective Operational Risk framework - ability to work across business and control partners to maintain an effective controls framework.
Maintain effective governance - in partnership with the Control Managers, maintain robust escalation framework, deliver appropriate messaging to senior management, and manage the CIB Business Control Committee
Represent the CIB in Working Groups - ability to lead meetings or speak on behalf of CIB in various working groups on matters related to operational risk events, Control Committee reporting, and governance
Develop and implement effective Operational Risk analytics - ability to deliver deep, thoughtful analysis to identify CIB level risks and measure the overall health of the CIB Control Environment
Resolving ad hoc requests including special reporting, issue themes analysis for senior management
Performing x-LOB HS Audit issue analysis with issues impacting CIB; identifying groups responsible
Provide speaker notes to prepare senior management for Control Committee meetings
Analyse metrics and gather information when there are breaches to be shared with the senior leads.
Navigate easily through CORE and analyse for changes and themes
Ongoing Monitoring: Conducts thematic reviews, root cause & risk analysis and control deep dives.
Major Control programs: Provides support for the governance, coordination, and execution of control projects
Qualifications
Significant professional experience (+/- 5-7 years) in a regulatory, risk, and/or control function, ideally coupled with business management experience
Experience delivering strong governance and oversight across line of business and risk disciplines
Track record in transforming business aligned risk and/or control reporting and analytics
Analytical thinker who is adept at reading across issues and identifying key drivers
Confident leader with good judgment, maturity, and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior management
Well-organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes
Have a collaborative style, be flexible, and have an ability to partner with other team members across global time zones
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex ideas simply
Excellent relationship building and influencing skills
High attention to detail
