Lifestyle Show Intern (PT), KSTU at The E.W. Scripps Company in Salt Lake City, Utah

Job Description:

KSTU FOX 13 has an exciting internship opportunity with Utah’s top-rated lifestyle program, The PLACE. This internship is designed to provide the student with the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of sales, marketing, advertising, and lifestyle programming, in addition to gaining exposure to the industry. You will gain experience in field producing, editing and on-air work, and will have the opportunity to create resume reel from your experience on The PLACE.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Be part of a team that contributes to the production of the station’s lifestyle show The PLACE. Partner with the Executive Producer to brainstorm ideas and coordinate/book guests.




• Greet segment guests and prepare them for the show.




• Assist Producers with social media and website strategy, writing, and posting content.




• Work with the Sales Marketing and Programming Strategy Manager to plan and execute community outreach efforts and events.




• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Must be 18 or older and a registered student in good standing at an accredited college or university.




• Completion of junior or senior level of education, preferably in journalism, broadcasting, marketing, public relations, or related field.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Strong desire to learn more about the industry




• Ability to partner with a team.




• Ability to work Mon - Fri, 11am – 2pm. At times, hours may include early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends. We will coordinate around your school schedule.
