Collect, validate, and analyze data to establish and maintain metrics foundational to annual WOW and process commitments
Prepare reports and other presentation materials as required by department leadership.
Assist in developing and implementing savings and process improvement programs with carriers, suppliers, or other transportation related providers
Collaborate with Finance, Merchandising, Sales & Marketing, and other functional areas touching Transportation functions to facilitate reporting or other projects as needed
Proactively communicate and advise on trends, changes in transportation industry, or other logistics related factors that may impact the transportation of product
Resolve issues regarding claims, invoices, vendor recovery, or other areas impacting financial and operational performance
Understands and demonstrates Essendant’s Core Values.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Ability to extract, manipulate, and organize data and interpret for decision making
Good project management and multitasking skills with ability to adhere to deadlines
Ability to recognize opportunities and communicate to direct supervisor
Ability to work well both independently and in a cross functional team environment
Intermediate understanding of finance, accounting, and mathematics
Education and Experience:
Minimum 3 years experience
Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, operations, logistics, supply chain management preferred, but BS in other areas acceptable with work experience in these areas
Prefer - CPSM, CTP, Green Belt Certificates
