The Marketing Communications Specialist is focused on writing, coordinating, and deploying external and internal communications for the firm, aligned with the firm’s marketing strategy. The position also serves as the project manager for sponsored events, coordinating between conference organizers and the firm’s participants to execute the event. This position is a hybrid work model where a percentage of your time must be spent in the Raleigh office.
Essential Functions:
Development of marketing copy to support various campaigns and channels including website, email, landing pages, social media, and personal outreach to clients or prospects
Development and execution of a PR and media relations outreach to pursue opportunities for earned media in trade and mainstream publications to enhance the firm’s brand
Leadership for shared media approach and social listening; gathering competitive intelligence
Support for social media activity across corporate social channels aligned with content and event strategies
Coordination of marketing communication initiatives, internal and external communications, communication for special events, and press releases
Project management of sponsored events serving as a liaison between vendors and practice area stakeholders to plan, prepare, and execute event communications and marketing activities
Coordination of annual collateral reviews and updates to ensure key marketing and business development material remains current
Marketing and communications support for the firm’s recruiting team including assistance with developing recruiting presentations and collateral and support for career fairs
Communications support for other programs such as the firm’s alumni outreach program
Qualification Requirements:
Strong writing, editing, and grammatical skills; ability to write clearly and concisely
Customer service orientation and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including, staff, partners, media contacts, and vendors
Excellent project management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
Able to demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
Reliable for accuracy and thorough work – strong attention to detail
Professional-level verbal and written communications skills; able to translate marketing concepts to stakeholders and other internal customers effectively
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Discretion to handle confidential information
Education and Experience Requirements:
B.A. or B.S. degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline
3-4 years of marketing communications experience
Experience with business-to-business marketing preferred
Experience with media relations and public relations required
Experience supporting diverse lines of business and customer groups
