General Summary:

Maintain organized maintenance storerooms in a controlled environment to assure we have the right parts at the right time. Utilize technical expertise to support the implementation of special projects throughout the maintenance department.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Facilitate daily operation of all maintenance storerooms including, but not limited to:


  • Daily monitor demand requirements for maintenance parts and equipment documentation.

  • Procure maintenance parts by identifying desired vendors, creating purchase orders, and placing orders with vendors, tracking, and receiving orders into our inventory and invoicing systems, and labeling and putting away acquired parts.

  • Pick and issue maintenance parts and equipment documentation, organizing them into kits by work order.

  • Deliver maintenance parts and equipment documentation to job sites when required.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy by conducting routine cycle counts of all storeroom inventory, adjusting on-hand balances as required.

  • Determine appropriate replenishment policies and associated reorder points for all parts.

  • Add or obsolete maintenance parts and equipment documentation in the CMMS.

  • Regularly update the CMMS with current pricing for all maintenance parts.

  • Work with the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to assure part availability for planned maintenance activities.

  • Enforce the execution of all storeroom procedures.

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping in all maintenance storerooms and surrounding areas.

Provide technical expertise within the maintenance storerooms:


  • Procure replacement parts (or identify appropriate substitute parts) for emergency situations, appropriately expediting orders to resolve breakdowns as effectively as possible.

  • "Right size" the storerooms by decreasing on-hand inventory levels while at the same time improving customer service levels.

  • Monitor the addition and deletion of storeroom parts within approval guidelines.



Provide technical expertise within the maintenance department:


  • Assist with the implementation of projects requiring maintenance knowledge and experience.


  • Coordinate part standardization efforts with internal machine designers and maintenance.

Participate in continuous improvement activities.


  • May also be a backup for the Maint. Planner/Scheduler and the Maint. Supervisor.

Job Qualifications:


  • Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school.


  • Between 3-5 years of work experience is required.


  • Strong maintenance background and equipment knowledge required


  • Storeroom and Inventory Planning, Scheduling experience in a manufacturing setting preferred but not required.


  • Familiarity period 7 - 12 months with Ariba purchasing system and/or SAP a plus!
