This is a 2nd Shift position (2pm - 12:30am, Monday--Thursday)
This position will have the opportunity to be part of growing team within a world-class testing facility at our Plymouth, MN Test Center. This role is key technical resource for the development of commercial HVAC equipment in the Daikin Technology Center Laboratory. Engineering Technicians will apply various functions of engineering including: electrical circuits, thermodynamics, data analysis, manufacturing processes, instrumentation and process controls. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on laboratory work and problem-solving in a team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sets up, modifies, and tests applied rooftop, terminal systems, and other mechanical devices as part of a team.
Installs and configures standard and special purpose laboratory instrumentation to test and evaluate HVAC equipment.
Works safely on large complex mechanical systems with little or no supervision.
Provides thoughtful input for solutions to difficult mechanical/ electrical problems, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Ensures complex mechanical/electrical equipment is in proper operating order while making suggestions on innovative processes, procedures and methods for equipment operation and maintenance.
Completes all tasks to a high level of quality with a concern for the end customer and the other teams within the group.
Requirements:
Two-year technical degree in a related field highly preferred with a minimum of a High School Diploma
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must have good working knowledge with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Experience with LabView or other PC based data acquisition tools a Plus.
