Area Vice President, Coronary Vascular Intervention

BIOTRONIK is looking to add an Area Vice President (AVP) to our Coronary Vascular Intervention (CVI) Team. The job purpose and scope of the AVP is to be responsible for management and leadership of the Sales Managers, Sales Representatives and Field Clinical Representatives in a specified territory.  Plan, organize, direct and control assigned territory DES, Core Cardiology and PK Papyrus sales activities to accomplish agreed-upon, long-term strategic goals and the business plan which will include the development of an effective sales force to achieve the forecasted market share and revenue growth per year.  Provide assistance in development of new local, regional and national accounts and in maintenance of current accounts. 

This is a remote position.  Location to be determined by candidate location. 

Your Responsibilities


  • Develop and establish long-term strategic and annual goals for CVI sales in the United States.

  • Responsible for attaining forecasted unit and revenue sales while controlling expenses to budget.

  • Works regularly in the field with Regional Sales Directors and Sales Representatives to establish strong relationships to key physicians, ensure competency and success.

  • Executes sales plans and ensures participation and compliance on the part of all members of the sales team.

  • Develop and review sales and staffing plans to attain CVI sales goals within assigned territory. 

  • Create, analyze and maintain expense budget for respective territory.

  • Develop and train Sales and managerial and staff personnel within BIOTRONIK, Inc., review and appraise performance and provide for succession planning.

  • Ultimately responsible for the hiring and management of Sales Managers, Sales Representatives and Field Clinical Representatives in a specified territory.

  • Seeks solutions to problems, recommends strategies to increase sales and analyzes BIOTRONIK’s market position.

  • Participates in the development of the annual business plan and is responsible for executing the plan.

  • Creates a strong “area” physician support team that will serve as advisors, champions and educators for the area.

  • Maintain close communications with the sales force, providing market analysis, strategies, product mix required, competitor information, sales training, product information, educational publications, and introduction of new products.

  • Manage accounts through government contracts, group hospital purchasing agencies, and university centers which are primarily using investigational devices, approve discounts and conditions of sales when those differ from regularly applied policies.

  • Monitor trends and developments to implement additional sales in new market areas and provide input for new product introduction.

  • Maintain a high level of cooperation and support by interfacing with BIOTRONIK's other departments.

  • Continuous verbal and written communication.

Your Profile


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Management or related field.

  • 3-5 years prior experience in Sales Management.

  • Proficient computer skills including e-mail, Microsoft Office, routine database activity, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of the Company.

  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills.

  • Complete and thorough knowledge of BIOTRONIK’s and competitor’s products.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in work ethic, customer service and demeanor.

  • Ability to think strategically and negotiate complex contracts with customers. 

Preferred Education and Experience


  • Experience selling coronary vascular intervention products is strongly preferred.

Travel


  • Ability to travel within assigned territory (approx. 60-80% of time)

  • Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy
