The Global Technology & Data organization at Prudential is seeking a Vice President, Chief Product Owner & Business Intelligence Lead. Reporting into the Chief Data Officer, this highly visible role will join the Chief Data Office leadership team.

The successful candidate will lead a portfolio of work focused on the enterprise Business Intelligence platform and Business Intelligence services for Individual Life, Annuities and US Operations. The successful candidate must have deep Business Intelligence subject matter expertise, superior business acumen and strategic thinking skills, communication and influencing skills and demonstrated leadership for high performing, engaged teams.

Responsibilities:


  • Set ambitious and clear Business Intelligence vision and communicate ‘the story’ effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team


  • Own the end-to-end Business Intelligence strategy from inception and measure business impact once solution enters production


  • Ensure the use of Business Intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities


  • Lead a team of professionals to manage entire business intelligence development life cycle from concept through definition, development, and delivery, providing services for Individual Life, Annuities and US Operations


  • Set ambitious and clear portfolio vision and communicate ‘the story’ effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team​


  • Navigate successfully through ambiguity; understand business requirements and create BI solutions that have measurable impact


  • Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve the BI function


  • Drive benefit definition and tracking through to realization, developing action plans, following up and closing out all gaps and issues to meet deadlines


  • Engage with Product Owners to be creative when it becomes necessary to tailor configurations to business needs


  • Serve as a key member of the Chief Data Office team and grow and develop Chief Data Office talent


Skills/Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience of demonstrated quantitative and qualitative data and BI experience with significant business impact


  • Proven experience with designing and delivering cross functional custom reporting solutions


  • Knowledge of financial services or businesses with complex data, services, and distribution models preferred


  • Experience leading a business intelligence function that has delivered strong value to the business; proven ability to improve BI capabilities and processes


  • Understands how strategic themes influence direction of product solution


  • Experience in Agile Development, with Product Owner or Chief Product Owner (or similar) experience preferred


  • Understands Lean-Agile principles and practices


  • Ability to document detailed product concepts in the context of user needs, business impacts, and technical requirements


  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights


  • Challenger mindset and passion to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – loves and embraces change


  • Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team


  • Not afraid to ‘roll up the sleeves’ and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn – pushes the team to do the same


  • Experimental mindset to drive innovation
