Event Coordinator at Cummins in Columbus, Indiana

Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Event Coordinator to join our team! This role is primarily based in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:  


  • Manage and optimize the room calendars for the global headquarters and associated sites within Columbus

  • Visualize and plan events within Cummins managed event spaces, acting as the first point of contact for meeting and event hosts

  • Participate on special event planning committees, acting as the advisor and liaison between the Cummins host and all respected vendors

  • Conduct on-site walk throughs and pre-function meetings with host to help guide service details 

  • Produce and coordinate the following: product inventory, event diagrams, special instructions, vendor coordination, staffing, post event notes and event tracking

  • Advise host in ordering food and beverages

  • Serve as the link between Hospitality and various support functions

  • Build and maintain effective working relationship with C suite level Cummins executives and assistants to facilitate dining, hospitality and entertainment requirements

  • Assist in hiring of event support staff

  • Monitor and lead event specialist’s daily activities

  • This position will lead all Event Staff: Cummins, contingent, supplier or otherwise. The Event Coordinator will coach event staff while driving improvements in guest experience and Hospitality processes.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:  


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in customer service, event coordination, hospitality/catering management or a related field

  • Ability to work well under pressure, both alone and in a team setting

  • Ability to prioritize and delegate accordingly

  • Professional communication skills

  • Attention to detail and organization skills

  • Confident in decision making ability

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
