Scope

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to join our International Accident & Health IT Team in Philadelphia.  This team is responsible for several global applications that underpin Chubb’s Digital Transformation initiatives and service multi-channel business in over 50 countries across the globe.  One of these applications, System 6, is a global application that is a full policy administration system and is a key strategic application that underpins Chubb’s global digital transformation.  We have a vacancy in the System 6 IT Development team that we are looking to fill.

About the Role

This role is an exciting role that spans across multiple IT disciplines including Requirements Analysis, Solutions Design, and architecture.  You will be required to understand business initiatives and challenges and then help to design the right solution to address these needs. 

This is a technical role and you will need to have a good grasp of the technologies used in System 6.  Once you have learned how the application works, you will help drive the future strategy of the system by designing innovative solutions that comply to Chubb’s architecture standards and are aligned to the business needs.

You will also work with the programmers to explain your solutions and work with them during the development phase to overcome any issues.  In addition, once the deployment is complete you will help the business users to use and understand the new system changes.

This role will have an eye on the future – the system will soon start a Cloud Transformation program and your knowledge and understanding of the current system will enable you to be an effective team member in the transformation team.

The System itself is constantly evolving.  Whether it’s new system requirements, new markets, new business opportunities or just core platform improvements change is a constant factor.  This team is also looking for you to bring the benefits of your experience and knowledge into the technical design role for core System components as required, and to participate in the discussions and work with the team to create the solutions.

Qualifications

You will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or another related field.  We are also happy to consider relevant work experience.

As this is a technical role, we expect that you will have knowledge of Microsoft ASP.NET (C#) and SQL Server and that you will have had at least 3 – 5 years’ experience working in the financial services industry in an IT capacity.

Since this is also an analytical role, you will have had experience preparing design documents and presenting them to various IT Stakeholders.  You will also need strong written and oral communications skills.
