Patient Access Representative - Ambulatory - 1 S Park at University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation in Madison, Wisconsin

We are seeking a Patient Access Representative - Ambulatory to:


  • Enter and verify demographic and insurance information, identify and collect patient financial obligations, and register or admit patients.

  • Promote a positive patient and family experience, exhibit empathy, engage in compassionate collections, and demonstrate strong communication skills.

  • Cover a variety of clinic locations and hours as needed.

Education:

Minimum – High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred – Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance. Health Information Management or related field

Work Experience:

Minimum – One (1) year of experience in a customer service related field

Preferred – One (1) year of experience in a healthcare, call center, business, financial or insurance related field

  • Dependable and reliable in achieving goals.

  • Experience operating office machines such as personal computers, fax machines, photocopier, and document scanners.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, 40 hours per week.  Scheduled shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Occasional holidays required.  Hours may vary based upon the operational needs of the department.
