Job Description:

Responsible to write, edit and proofread content for a variety of highly visible internal and/or external communications.



  • Research and produce communications content that is informational, educational and drives engagement.


  • Collaborate with internal and external audiences about communications content.


  • Support the development of communication plans and timelines.


  • Maintain an understanding of the corporate communications strategy and standards to support the development of communication plans that support strategic initiatives.


  • Proofread internal and external communications content for clarity, tone, style and grammar to ensure communications are high quality and results oriented.


  • Research targeted audiences and suggest communication channels.


  • Create and maintain a mass communications database and design of electronic media.


  • Develop and deliver presentations to internal team members and leadership.


  • Generate ideas to improve communication processes and delivery methods.


  • Support complex projects as assigned.


" Qualifications"



  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field is required.


  • Five (5) years of professional communications experience is required.


  • Previous experience working in the healthcare industry is preferred.


  • Advanced copywriting, editing and written communication skills.


  • Advanced oral communication skills.


  • Advanced Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills.


  • Intermediate knowledge of multimedia technologies.


  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently while meeting deadlines.


  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships within the organization and community.


  • Ability to comprehend complex company documents, procedures and policies and distill these into easy-to-understand content. 

Corporate Affairs



  1. Develop highly visible corporate affairs content for major communication channels for internal and/or external audiences.


  2. Support the Corporate Affairs team to educate employees and other stakeholders about current events, issues and topics. 


  3. Generate forward thinking ideas and solutions to the way internal and external audiences connect with the organization, leaders and each other. 

Corporate Editor



  1. Review and edit communications for external audiences as needed to ensure alignment with corporate messaging and tone.


  2. Consult on brand and logo usage consistent with Association guidelines and legal direction.

Executive Communications



  1. Develop content for internal and external communications on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and executive staff to include speeches, presentations, blogs, talking points, video and audio scripts, and webcasts.


  2. Develop and provide project oversight to executive level communication channels and initiatives. 

Market Communications



  1. Consult with business partners to identify communication needs, provide guidance on communication channels and create strategic communications plans.


  2. Provide consultation in the corporate messaging and ensure that corporate messaging is consistently applied to communications.


  3. Lead the creation of  a variety of materials for diverse audience needs, including alerts, brochures, educational events, manuals and newsletters

Public Relations



  1. Develop public relations content including news releases, media advisories, talking points, contributed content/bylined articles and blog posts to support organizational initiatives.


  2. Determine the best storytelling opportunity by reviewing and interpreting initiatives and establishing influence internally and externally to tell the story.


  3. Interview subject matters experts and guest speakers to develop story ideas and content.


  4. Support the Public Relations team with media list building, research and outreach.

Social Media



  1. Develop social media content for all social and digital platforms to produce meaningful engagement and subscriber growth.


  2. Monitor social media channels for activity, engaging in online conversations, and responding to customer service inquiries.


  3. Utilize social media community insights to develop reports that summarize social media activity.
