Overview: Plans, develops, and coordinates health, safety and environmental compliance and specific Company HSE programs or initiatives for assigned area.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to:
- Read and interpret policies and programs and regulations
- Effectively train 80% of HSE programs and policies and assist in record keeping functions
- Effectively communicate and coordinate meetings, deliver orientations and training
- Conduct incident investigations and compile HSE incident reports and issue monthly reports
- Serve as a technical resource for various HSE programs for sites or business units
- Perform HSE audits
- Communicate with and resolve HSE issues with management and with government agencies on a limited basis
- Coach, support and instruct line management to raise awareness and integrate HSE into daily operations thorough assessments, audits, etc.
- Review/Prepare company documents according to regulatory requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency with various technical software database applications (e.g.. ..Intelex) and MS Office Suite
- Monitor HSE (PPE and life safety equipment) expenses
- Respond to customer requests and participate in customer focus groups on a limited basis
- Travel to facilities as required to provide support.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of what we do as a company.
- Intermediate understanding of HSE regulations and customer HSE requirements.
Minimum Education and Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate's degree (preferred)
- OSHT or ASP (preferred)
- OSHA 30 hour (preferred)
- OSHA 501 (preferred)
Minimum Experience:
- Typically at least 3 - 5 years of related HSE experience
- Some experience in the oil & gas field (preferred)
Leadership:
- May serve as a resource to others with less experience
