Are you a Controller looking for an opportunity to grow?  If so, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!   Based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week, you will be responsible for all accounting functions for a modern captive foundry, reporting to the Plant Manager with ties to the Corporate Director of Finance.  Functions include various daily/weekly/monthly reporting, forecasting, cost development, performance and variance analysis.  Additional secondary responsibilities include inventory control, contract review, purchasing involvement, managing plant utility providers and supervision of payroll personnel.

AS THE CONTROLLER, YOU WILL:


  • Direct the preparation of month end closing schedules including site financial statements, POR submittals (forecasting reports), serve as liaison with corporate personnel on financial inquiries, and insures corporate due dates for financial information are complied with.

  • Development, analyze, interpret and report statistical and accounting information, in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other matters bearing on operating effectiveness of the organization.

  • Recommend prospective employees for hiring and existing employee promotions and terminations.

  • Direct the preparation of annual tax work papers, Emerson internal or independent financial audits, and governmental audits.

  • Prepare the annual budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system) and analyze variance reports.

  • Coordinate efforts and information requirements with other members of management to insure accurate financial reporting.

  • Participate as a member of the facility strategic leadership team with inputs on strategic planning and future direction for the product group.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with Accounting and Finance focus

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience

  • Good working knowledge of general and cost accounting, internal controls and asset management

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs

  • Strong analytical, administrative and management capabilities

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Supervision with 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Oracle ERP

  • Metal casting experience/knowledge

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Quality Programs such as Six-Sigma
