Leadership:
Lead a team of insurance claims specialists in resolving pre-litigation casualty claims through close partnership with internal business partners, third party administrators and insurers.
Lead specialists by setting goals, making sound and timely decisions, and balancing the needs of the business with the roles / responsibilities of the team;
Build maintain and leverage relationships within the industry and parent company to understand evolving landscapes to inform future strategy
Claims Management (Auto liability, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Occupational Accident):
Set and meet metric targets for effective claim handling; responsible for communicating progress on goals within the organization and to parent company, as applicable
Work with parent company to understand actuarial trending and analysis
Lead the claims review process in partnership with claims vendors
Analyze claims and determine appropriate resolution, including settlement up to authorized amounts
Influence and make recommendations to leadership (and parent company, as applicable) on claims strategy and settlement for claims above authorized amount
Manage claim or vendor issues escalated from internal partners or Shoppers
Partner with Legal and internal business partners to evaluate claim trends and assist with developing portfolio strategies to determine related actions
Lead and act as subject matter expert on project teams designed to drive claim cost initiatives or process improvement
Identify and implement solutions to improve claims process efficiency and outcome
Insurance:
Work with parent company to set and execute strategies for insurance placements and manage the process to collect renewal information
Ensure claims are identified and reported to insurance carriers as appropriate
Be a subject matter expert for the organization and provide risk analysis and contract review for new and ongoing initiatives and contracts.
Continuous analysis of claims trends and creation of initiatives to improve process and improve outcomes, including development of strategies for insurance placements and carrier/coverage renewals.
Role Qualifications:
5+ years prior insurance claims experience
Auto or gig economy experience preferred
4-year Degree or equivalent formal claims program (i.e,. AIC, ARM, or CPCU designation)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong ability to establish effective, trusted team and client relationships
Strong team player who is adaptable and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to strike a sensible and practical balance between legal risks and business goals
