Summary of the Position:

The Plant Environmental Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company-wide sanitation efficiency, safety, and support of the plant sanitation programs and culture throughout the organization.

 

Functions of the Position:

10%	E	Supports the organization in troubleshooting, technical deficiencies, root cause analysis, sustainable corrective and preventive actions, and recommending solutions.
10%	E	Assists with department initiatives and operates as a subject matter expert in applicable technologies, policies, programs, and systems management.
10%	E	Optimizes, scorecards, and assesses plant Master Sanitation Schedules annually.
10%	E	In collaboration with Quality & Food Safety, Operations, and Engineering, develops strategies for continuous improvement of sanitation and hygiene programs and people development.
10%	E	Works closely with other functions to develop and update Sanitation and Hygiene programs and guidance documents.
10%	E	Works with internal and external facilities to implement best practices and procedures on programs, cleaning methods, designs, pathogen controls, allergen management, and other food safety challenges.
10%	E	Utilizes statistical methods, data analysis, and reporting to assist the manufacturing plants in sanitation practices.
10%	E	Demonstrates cross-functional collaboration with senior/cross-functional team members on project concepts to achieve strategic projects and effectively communicates with personnel at all levels of responsibility within the organization.
10%	E	Supervises key performance indicators for Plant Sanitation such as: Environmental monitoring, MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule), Compliance, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP).
10%	E	Responsible for supervising non routine cleaning assignments and leading corporate contracts with sanitation and pest control vendors.

Qualifications:

• Five or more years experience in sanitation management. 


• Prefer experience in a food processing environment, with dry sanitation. 


• Knowledge of sanitation chemicals required.


• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• College completion or coursework preferred


• Pest control certification preferred

 

Education, Experience and Knowledge: 

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology, Dairy Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related fields.


• 8 or more years of experience of sanitation practices in a food manufacturing environment.


• General knowledge of and passion for quality methods and techniques, including HACCP concept for food safety, quality assurance standards, food laboratory testing methods and operations, and statistical process control techniques.


• 5 or more years of management and leadership experience.

 

 

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

• HACCP certification


• SQF practitioner certification
