Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Establishes, expands and maintains a strong customer relationship by providing extensive, personalized service focused on the specific needs of each banking customer.

  • Assists customers with all aspects of opening and maintaining personal and business checking, savings and time deposit accounts to include IRA’s and provides services as needed.

  • Take applications, analyze information of the customer, recommend appropriate financial products while educating and communicating with customers throughout the process.

  • Outlines loan terms and conditions and keeps the customer informed.

  • Approves loans within specified lending limits and refers loan applications which exceed those limits to management or loan committee for review.

  • Has a high-level knowledge of all bank products and services to refer customers appropriately to meet customer needs.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of banking products and services and keep abreast of competitors’ banking products and how they compare with First Federal.

  • Provides excellent customer service to all customers (internal and external) and is a leader in creating a positive work environment.

  • Exercises independent judgment and recommends loans and products as appropriate within bank policy.  

  • Initiates, reviews and approves wire transfer requests.

  • Is comfortable reviewing legal documentation where required.

  • Orders credit reports, reference checks (when applicable) and validate borrower’s credit, income, assets and any customer information as required on loan requests.

  • Directs central appraisal ordering department to order appraisals as appropriate.

  • Assists in preparation of loan package, in accordance with the bank’s standards.

  • Stay abreast of new legislation and regulations that affect the banks consumer lending policies.

  • Provide reports on the status of the bank’s consumer loans and loan marketing strategies, based on current and past workloads.

  • Handles inquiries from applicants, realtors, other various referral sources, and processing personnel. Resolves customer complaints in a timely and effective manner.

  • Completes all required commission logs and call reports required by management.

  • Meet or exceed established sales, cross-sell and referral goals where applicable.

  • Follow all rules and guidelines of the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act) and be registered with the NMLS. Annual renewal of registration is required.

  • To perform all job duties and maintain compliance with all banking acts, laws and regulations applicable to your job function.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Attendance at community events to promote the bank is expected.

Qualifications Required


A High school diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of one years’ experience in consumer lending and new account opening.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


Sitting for extended periods of time, requires close visual acuity and the ability to work and operate computer applications and equipment including copy machine, telephone, scanner or other basic business equipment.  Some travel is required for facilitating sales calls and meeting with customers.  The job is within the normal office environment range.


Qualifications Preferred


Two years’ experience in consumer lending, retail banking (new accounts and teller) and the proven ability to meet and exceed production goals.
