Job Description:

GPS Manufacturer/Distributor

We are seeking a full time Senior Aviation Systems Engineer for our Salem, Oregon location.  In this role, you will lead successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems by creating, identifying, documenting, and coordinating customer and regulatory system requirements and scalable system design for integrated flight deck programs and/or retrofit product line. 

Essential Functions

• Responsible for independently performing technical market research and analysis in support of product defintion and business development initiatives.


• Supports establishing program/project-specific execution plans for system-level aspects compatible with Garmin processes, including initial discussions with the customer


• Mentor and provides guidance to less experienced Aviation Systems Engineers (1 & 2)


• Provide reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using sound problem solving techniques


• Provide technical input to product development plans and concept documents

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience 


• Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
