The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the payroll function. Responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately in a timely manner.  The position has one direct report and reports to Director Compensation and Benefits.

Essential Responsibilities:

•    Manage and direct the overall Payroll function for the Company encompassing both US Hourly/Salaried and International Payrolls

•    Prepare and process the US, Canadian and Hong Kong payrolls. 

•    Reconcile team’s payrolls, resolving issues which may arise.

•    Prepare and oversee the preparation of required payroll reports and filings, including oversight of tax filing and labor cost reporting.  Work closely with Accounting team to ensure proper posting for salary, benefits, and other payroll expenses.

•    Responsible for verifying compliance with federal and state payroll requirements; stays current with changes in regulations and legislation.  Maintain payroll files and records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

•    System expert of payroll system and time attendance. Identify new tools and resources within system to ensure payroll is operating in the most efficient way.  Lead team with system upgrades and communicate to HR team any changes that impact them.

•    Work with Benefits Analyst to ensure employee contributions and deferrals are processing correctly.  Prepare and process employee contributions, reconciling any discrepancies which may arise.

•    Lead for payroll audits with internal and external auditors.

•    Responsible for the engagement and training of team.

•    Prepare reports and analyses as needed.

Education and Experience:

•    Minimum five (5) years’ experience solid payroll experience required

•    Bachelor's degree in Business, or Accounting or equivalent certification (Fundamental Payroll Certification, Certified Payroll Professional) preferred

•    Experience managing multiple payroll processing schedules

•    Experience with multi-state and international payroll preferred

•    Experience with managing people preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•    Knowledgeable of wage and hour rules applicable to payroll.  

•    Advanced level of proficiency in ADP Payroll required

•    Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

•    Excellent communication and organization skills.  High customer service level with the ability to support a variety of system users in a polite, helpful manner.

•    Excellent analytical, math and problem-solving skills

•    Must be able to work with information of an extremely confidential and sensitive nature

•    Must be willing to enforce Company policies 

Physical Demands/Work Requirements:

•    Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp using light or fine manipulation, talks or hears.

•    Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

•    Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

•    Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.
