The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Automotive Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Driving sales, penetration, and specifying 3M’s Automotive portfolio at Japanese OEM and Tier customers.


• Maintaining and growing account relationships at all levels including direct interface with OEM & Tier purchasing, design, product development, and program management located in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana as well as other locations as required.


• Leading the design of 3M solutions into customer specifications, material specification approvals and the implementation of those specification approvals to grow 3M’s Automotive business.

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Two (2) years sales experience in a private, public, government, or military environment


• Current, Valid Driver’s license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or technical curriculum


• Three (3) or more years of Automotive OEM/Tier sales experience


• Selling experience with technical product portfolio solutions


• Experience working with global teams


• Competent in use of Microsoft Office and 360 products, Salesforce and related sales software as required


• Fluent English oral and written communication skills

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic / limited international as needed
