The Team

We are seeking a Senior Accountant join American Tower’s Corporate Accounting team.  The Corporate Accounting team consolidates results and internal reporting including flash, financial statements, variances, cash flows, AFFO, debt compliance, and foreign exchange reporting. The Corporate Accounting team provides support to the Company’s various geographic regions, determines the global close calendar, and works closely with internal and external auditors to oversee projects having a global impact.  Day to day you will conduct routine and non-routine accounting activities including month- and quarter- and year-end closes, journal entries, reconciliation of corporate accounts, subledger analyses, ledger and account maintenance, financial statements preparation, and other special projects.  You will also partner cross-functionally to both properly record and report Corporate SG&A and develop a full understanding of Corporate overhead budget and actuals.

What You Can Offer Us


  • Prepare proposed journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Coordinate the accounting close for the Corporate operating unit, including actual v. budget/forecast analyses for SG&A costs.

  • Assist with corporate and consolidated fixed asset maintenance and analyses including sub-ledger maintenance, reconciliation, and roll forward preparation.

  • Prepare the consolidated capital expenditure analysis.

  • Prepare the consolidated accounts payable and DSO analyses.

  • Assist with the internal financial reporting processes including the consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.

  • Between 2–3 years of accounting experience required; public accounting experience strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of moderately complex procedures and practices of accounting and GAAP principles.

  • Advanced Excel knowledge, including the use of pivot tables, preferred.

  • Experience performing and understanding foreign exchange transactions preferred.

  • Oracle Financials experience preferred.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
