The Quality Assurance Manager is a vital team player in the Enterprise Application Development organization. Consistently and constructively solicits, clarifies and acknowledges individual perspectives, feedback and opinions with open-mindedness and flexibility. Understands and complies with requirements of all laws, regulations, policies and guidelines applicable to the position. Develops and implements related policies and procedures in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. Conducts analysis, draws conclusions, provides consultation and makes recommendations to management on QA strategy, policies and procedures based on deep subject matter expertise.



RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop and implement related policies and procedures in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.

  • Develop, define, and document Quality Assurance testing plans standards, tools, procedures, and guidelines while considering manual testing, automated testing, and framework-based testing options.

  • Evaluate and modify department procedures for the purpose of continual process improvement resulting in increased efficiency and compliance.

  • Responsible for development and implementation of appropriate test strategies, test environment requirements and activities based on application-specific technical and functional characteristics.

  • Create policies and procedures to support QA strategies.

  • Evaluate, identify and make recommendations to implement industry standards/best practices in Software Quality Assurance with defined benchmarks and measures.

  • Develop and implement QA tools to reduce dependence on specialized knowledge and/or repetitive regression testing.

  • Establish standards for reporting and tracking of defects and their resolution.

  • Strategize QA Plans, define QA tasks, and create and manage QA estimates

  • Ability to convert business requirements to testing strategy as needed to provide feedback and direction to the Application Development Team during QA activities.

  • Provides leadership when applicable by answering team questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance

  • Monitors procedures in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.

  • Ensure application development changes are thoroughly tested and documented prior to production release.

  • Develop test cases against application development requirements.

  • Develop test plans consistent with release management methodology to ensure application updates are fully tested.

  • Consult with the product management team, application development team and management as needed to articulate QA results and make recommendations based on quantifiable QA test data and the potential risks from elements such as test holes, labs or boundary conditions

  • Conduct analysis, draw conclusions, provide consultation and make recommendations to management based on deep subject matter expertise.

  • Provide approval as part of the SDLC process.

  • Manage operational testing data related to application development requirements

  • Ensure application development changes are thoroughly tested and documented prior to production release.

  • May be responsible for or participate in vendor management duties, as needed. May include identifying potential vendors, RFQ process, vendor selection, contract negotiation, managing vendor activities and ensuring adherence with service level agreements.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the QA Team and accountable for achieving goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for supervisory duties such as hiring, firing, training, coaching, mentoring, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, handling grievances, scheduling, assigning work, approving time cards, etc.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and drive initiatives forward as needed with limited or no direction.



QUALIFICATIONS



  • 10 years of progressive responsibility in Quality Assurance required

  • 10 years related Commercial Banking or financial services business experience required

  • 5 years prior leadership experience in a supervisory/management position required

  • Experience with QA automation.

  • CMSQ (Certified Manager of Software Quality) or CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing) certification preferred




This position starts at $108,359 to $135,449. A discretionary bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
