Hardware Engineering Program Manager Lead at OUTFRONT Media in andover, Massachusetts

Job Description:

This position will support and lead all hardware and select firmware engineering projects as it relates to Outfront's digital display and system roll out. The position will work closely with the VP of Engineering along with hardware and software leads and will include projects related to hardware definition and development, firmware development and remote system level monitoring and management.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and effectively manage risks, problems, and dependencies; facilitate resolution of any issues or problems.


• Formulate a Hardware Engineering Program Management strategy to meet business objectives with a focus on delivering customer value, while managing internal and external dependencies and keeping short-term and long-term horizons in view


• Foster strong partnerships with Product and other stakeholders to create organizational alignment on delivery prioritization and a shared product vision


• Partner with the Hardware and Software Engineering teams on strengthening Agile development framework that enables high performing teams to focus on delivering business value at a frequent predictable cadence and with robust quality


• Using tools, such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence, enable transparency into product road mapping and engineering delivery processes for an end-to-end systemic view that optimizes planning and decision making


• Align with the Product team on managing relationships with high-profile customers, including reaching agreements on scope, product roadmaps, delivery timelines, and customer expectations to deliver the highest value possible to customers while optimizing internal processes and costs.


• Forge productive relationships with Operations, Product, business stakeholders, as well as vendors to focus on orchestrating end-to-end complex digital initiatives, including project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.


• Establish and maintain an efficient framework for the management of Hardware vendor relationships to achieve maximum alignment on deliverables, timelines, and to optimize costs


• Formalize a budget tracking strategy to bring clarity and maximize ROI


• Partner with Operations, Deployment teams, and other internal counterparts in establishing project roll-up visibility and reporting up to Executive leadership


• Lead project team meetings with key stakeholders with the goal of identifying blockers and obstacles and actively participate in their removal


• Lead, coordinate, and support the development of system requirements, solution design & delivery, testing and training with internal engineering, vendors and key stakeholders


• Be contact for transit agencies to represent engineering activities


• Support workgroup alignment meetings to address tactical release issues, dependencies, team status, production issues, metrics review, milestones, etc. (cross functional - development, operations, client installers, etc.)


• Create a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and learning.

Required Experience/Skills:

• 15+ years program management experience on progressively more complex and simultaneous programs.


• Thorough understanding of Agile development and infrastructure processes.


• Hardware, software and field deployment experience


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on leadership.


• Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment consisting of software engineering, hardware engineering, operational infrastructure, product management, and deployment engineering


• Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment where you must take on multiple responsibilities and do what it takes to get things.


• Well versed in project management tools like Monday, Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Confluence
