Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting Mainframe Developer to join our Corporate Technology Team .

Responsibility:


  • Develop and support Banking applications in a mainframe environment with Cobol, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM and MQ Series software;

  • Collaborate with business lines to understand business requirements and participate in the development for SDLC documentation;

  • Develop technical specifications and review technical components to ensure they meet business requirements and quality standards;

  • Maintain cash records processes reflected in client, house and general ledger (GL) accounts;

  • Develop code for new and modified programs; comply with firm standards regarding SDLC documentation and programming requirements.

Requirements:


  • Experience in Banking (Cash Records) processing including support for Global Controllers, Treasury Services, Credit and Funds Transfer and General Ledger Accounting areas.

  • Basic knowledge and experience with distributed technologies such as Java, Oracle, MSSQL and Microsoft Access with respect to database connectivity and interfacing with Mainframe applications.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

  • Strong application development and application production support skills.

  • Strong technical design skills and technical specification development skills.

  • Strong testing skills: experience supporting various project testing phases and working closely with interfacing systems teams and business users.

  • Experience working with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.

  • Proficiency in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Strong development and support skills for CICS background processes both MQ-driven and interval-driven.

  • At least 5 years' experience with large and functionally diverse projects.

  • Ability to absorb and retain complicated technological content.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience working directly with business users and acting as a liaison between business and technical areas.

  • Experience working and coordinating work in global multi-cultural environment.

  • Basic project coordination skills.

  • Potential and desire to evolve into a technical leader/team leader in the future.
