We are looking for team members who come to the table with a shared passion for making food the world loves. As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for the programming, set-up, and fabrication of prototypes, components, or precision assemblies of food process or packaging equipment.
Pay Rate
$28.00 per hour to $35.00 per hour
Schedule
6:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday
Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days per week
Your seat at the table will include: (Duties and Responsibilities)
Following all Safety procedures and support all safety initiatives, and goals of the team
Maintaining all Quality and GMP standards including sanitary design standards
Working effectively in a team environment while consistently following Plant Norms
Actively participating in Zero Loss Culture (ZLC) processes including, but not limited to Autonomous Maintenance, Focused Improvements, Breakdown Elimination, Planning & Scheduling, and 5S
Ability to setup, program and operate CNC mills and lathes, and manual mills and lathes
Demonstrating:
Advanced skill with shop equipment including mill, lathe, grinder, drill press, hydraulic press, metal cutoff saw, bandsaw and electric hoist
A working partnership with customers to provide solutions
Thorough understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems including schematics and symbols
Understanding and use of lubrication including schedules and types of lubricants used
Proper use of hand and power tools
Performing machining and maintenance procedures to meet plant objectives
Supporting capital projects
Machining and selecting appropriate materials to minimize downtime while maximizing safety, quality, and system performance
Utilizing Maximo maintenance management system by navigating through screens to enter data, understanding the work order control system and understanding the parts/stock requisitioning process
Scheduling repair work, identify and requisition parts, document repair history for equipment including labor, materials and outside maintenance services
Ensuring rebuilt parts are properly located and recommend parts for stocking
Comprehending drawings and machine parts to the drawing
Incorporating standards and designs for ease of access, sanitation, removal and installation to extend component life
Following up on installation within reasonable timeframe to ensure successful start-up
Effectively complete required documentation and information transfer
Demonstrating safe work practices ensuring safety of personnel and safe operation of equipment, including, but not limited to: confined space entry, lockout/tagout, hot work permits, use of welding curtains, safe handling of chemicals and emergency response procedures
Contributing to continuous improvement results by providing technical expertise in plant problem solving
Completing necessary training to upgrade skills pertaining to effective maintenance of equipment and systems
Communicating effectively with while managing multiple tasks and priorities
Communicating effectively with internal and external customers
Attending required meetings and trainings
Leading with and championing human and food safety
Your recipe for success must include: (Minimum Qualifications)
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Must have high School Diploma or GED
At least 5 years of Machinist experience
Ability work in a self-directed team environment, independently with high quality and productivity
Mechanical, math, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Must be able to perform physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to lift, move, push, pull 55 lbs as required by the position
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces, some possibly rough or uneven
Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
Willing and ability to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat/bump cap, hair/beard net and gloves when required
Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends, daily overtime or overtime outside of your regular scheduled hours as required (more than 40 hours per week)
Ability to work flexible workdays and hours depending on the season
Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology
Demonstrated leadership ability
