The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
•          Provide advanced mechanical systems & design ownership for:

•          Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of production equipment inclusive of all mechanical design aspects.

•          Monitor and analyze equipment performance and perform systematic performance analysis to drive improvements on equipment reliability, availability, throughput, and cost of ownership.

•          Troubleshoot and solve complex equipment problems.

•          Development and implementation of maintenance procedures and techniques for a safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and improving mechanical equipment, standard adjustments, web handling systems and components and pumps.




• Performing basic machining.




• Driving full ownership of equipment reliability programs as they pertain to mechanical integrity, design and renewal needs.




• Performing preventive, predictive and emergency maintenance.




• Performing basic welding and fabrication tasks.




• Performing millwright tasks.




• Attending company-authorized seminars, instructional sessions, technical classes and training requirements to maintain personal competence in new areas of technology and safety.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.


• Completion of a mechanical apprenticeship program or 4 years performing this role in a private, public, government, or military industrial environment setting.


• Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Two-year technical degree or completion of a technical journeyman/certificate program


• Strong knowledge and experience with PLC’s, inkjet printers, extrusion equipment, ovens and hydraulic presses


• Experience with metal fabrication, repair and welding


• Experience installing, diagnosing and repairing, assembly and/or automated machinery in a manufacturing environment, robotics and automated equipment


• Strong background in electrical preventative maintenance as well as basic knowledge of electrical code covering laws of installation of electrical equipment; use test equipment, such V.O.M., Ammeters, DVM, signal generators, logic analyzers and probes, chart recorder, and other related equipment.

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
