Position Overview

Crain Communications is seeking an experienced B2B marketer to plan and execute sponsorship driven marketing promotions for Ad Age, a daily must-read multi-media publication for decision makers and disruptors across the marketing and advertising landscape.

The Sr. Manager, B2B Maketing plays an important role, sitting at the center of a cross-functional ecosystem, holding responsibility for the development and implementation of cross-channel campaigns that support our award-winning, revenue-generating, sponsored content, products, and events. Leveraging extensive knowledge of digital marketing channels and tactics, they will build, implement, and optimize integrated marketing campaigns across email, on-site, social and search. Our clients and customers are also our peers, making passion, creativity and innovation key for success.

The ideal candidate must be intrinsically collaborative and able to thrive in a matrixed environment. Sitting within the Crain Corporate Marketing team, they serve as an Ad Age brand expert, working cross- functionally with Sales, Events, Editorial, Acquisition & Retention Marketing and Operations to ensure sponsored marketing programs deliver value back to our partners and customers alike.

Responsibilities


  • Lead the development and execution of promotional marketing plans for sponsored events, products, and content in alignment with Events, Sales and Editorial goals.

  • Understand Sales' requirements for specific audience segments; partner with cross-functional teams to acquire and capture this audience.

  • Create data-driven go-to-market sales marketing collateral, communicating program value proposition and promotional elements.

  • Build and maintain a master campaign calendar allocating and tracking promotional commitments across owned channels.

  • Develop campaign assets and collateral including copy and creative for email, social, search and web.

  • Maintain project plans and quarterback cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.

  • Measure, benchmark and optimize marketing plans on an ongoing basis, leveraging performance-based insights to drive improvements.

  • Be a thought leader and subject matter expert on current best practices, technologies, and innovations to continuously improve our programs and campaigns.

  • Manage and mentor junior team members

  • Track and manage marketing budgets

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field required

  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in a B2B marketing position supporting sponsorship, advertising, or events sales.

  • A strong working knowledge and understanding of integrated marketing strategies including channel, creative, operations and brand

  • Experience leveraging marketing technologies and platforms to plan, execute and measure campaigns (Email, Hootsuite, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google, Adobe Analytics)

  • Excellent professional writing skills with an emphasis on marketing copy


  • Strong analytical skills; able to create data-driven marketing campaigns end to end

  • Expert project management skills withstrong attention to detail; deadline driven with ability to complete tasks and deliver quickly

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced environment of multiple priorities, executing in the short term while developing long-term strategies

  • Self-motivated and results oriented

  • Ability to effectively manage across multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization

  • Experiencemanagingmarketing budgets, vendors, platforms and contracts

Preferences


  • Experience in publishing or media industry

  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS

  • Experience with CRM systems, specifically SailThru

  • Events Marketing experience

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
