Manufacturing Engineer III at Bio-Rad Laboratories in Hercules, California

Job Description:

Bio-Rad is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to perform a variety of professional engineering assignments associated with some or all of the following areas: research, design, development, manufacturing, or various phases of specialized engineering projects which includes working on PLC 's such as Allen Bradley. Supports project/program activities by performing work with an engineering specialty which involves various types of research, investigations, analysis and interpretation of data. This position requires a working knowledge of basic processes, following standard procedures with the ability to implement automated processes to improve operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• A Manufacturing engineering position in the Process Development department of the Bio-Rad MFG Division.


• Develop test methodologies and test plans for PLC troubleshooting.


• Interface with R&D and Manufacturing team in Hercules as necessary to define test requirements for PLC software and Manufacturing equipment.


• Participate in V&V activities on product development project teams.


• Troubleshoot equipment related issues in Operations.


• Assist in Manufacturing in diagnostics as required. Design Test Fixtures as necessary to resolve issues.


• Automate testing where possible, working with operators, engineers and facility personnel.


• Able to Work independently and on teams to resolve complex quality issues.


• Conducts research, analysis and investigation of issues as assigned.


• May be assigned basic/simple projects or assignments.


• Keeps management informed on the status of assigned projects through the submission of reports on technical specifications, test results, equipment performance, budgets, schedules, etc.


• May represent the company with customers and vendors in resolving technical issues.


• May provide leadership and participate in the training of lower level personnel.


• May assist in interpreting customer or marketing requirements.


• Leads smaller projects.


• Keeps abreast of trends and applications.


• Performs work on several functions/applications.


• Interprets customer or marketing requirements to generate engineering specifications.


• May provide technical support in presentations and product demonstrations.


• May build simple applications.

Qualifications

• B.S in Engineering.


• 7 - 10 years' experience in a GMP environment working in a Manufacturing Engineering department.


• PLC knowledge preferred.


• Excellent communication, technical, and computer skills.


• Coordination, tact and team work.


• Experience in Validation/Verification studies for manufacturing processes.
