Job Designation
The Receiving Inspector performs visual and dimensional inspection of incoming parts and raw materials, Age/temperature sensitive materials, hardware and in-process parts for Quality workmanship, appearance and conformity to applicable specifications and standards. Reviews accompanying documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Job Core Responsibilities
* Receive articles, parts, services for purchased items
* Perform incoming inspections with appropriate equipment
* Verify certification and conformity to product specifications
* Perform SAP transaction 'Received parts'
* Communicate to engineering discrepancies and generate quality notification
* Segregate and protect identification and traceability
* Follow policies and procedures for receiving inspection, Quality Assurance Manual,
* Report directly to the Quality Manager
Job Specifications
Education : A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications : Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience : 2- 5 years of relevant experience
Skills :
* Proficiency in basic drawing/specification interpretation
* Ability to review and understand third party standards from ASME, ANSI, SAE, NAS, MIL, Blue print reading,
* Mechanical aptitude and ability
* Exposure to calipers, micrometers, Height gauge, Optical comparator,
* Reading, writing and verbal communication skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
* Ability to generate written reports
* Ability to work effectively with a team
* Ability to manage small projects personally and work independently
* Organizational skills and detail oriented
* Ability to stand, sit, and lift up to 30 to 40 pounds, excellent visual acuity
* Understanding of metrology tools and calibrations a plus
* Ability to operate a coordinate measuring machine preferred
* SAP MRP system experience preferred.
