Job Description


The Lube/Technician/Mechanic Helper will lube, fuel, clean, service, repair, and maintain heavy equipment used for the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project, at both the Moab and Crescent Junction sites, including, but not limited to, heavy duty trucks and trailers, bulldozers, excavators, forklifts, water trucks, dump trucks, backhoes, and trailers. Job duties are as follows:


  • Fuel, lube, and assist with maintenance of equipment fleet.

  • Safely operate, drive and maintain fuel truck.

  • Keep equipment fleet clean.

  • Complete light duty PM services in the field.

  • Effectively document and communicate all repairs to management.

  • Performs and completes machine inspection reports.

  • Self-motivated, responsible, reliable, and willing to work in all weather conditions.

  • Fill in as needed as a haul or water truck driver.

  • Willingness to complete all required tasks at Moab and Crescent Junction site locations.

    Qualifications



    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    • 1 + years mechanical experience supporting heavy equipment or fleet maintenance.

    • Ability to qualify as a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Radiation Worker II and complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) worker qualification, and pass a HAZWOPER/respirator user medical exam.

    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. alone.

    • Experience in work environments with exposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes.

    • Motivated and willing to work as part of a team and perform multiple job functions.

    • Ability to read and comply with project direction contained in project-specific plans and procedures.

    • Must have a valid driver's license.

    • May be required to pass a pre-employment background check.

    • Must be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts, pending demand.
